Hetul Chagane, known as “Dj Yash” was born in Lisbon , has origins in India and Mozambique.

Hi, I am DJ Yash,
Being from an Indian Gujarati family, music has always had a special place in my life, whether for enjoyment in listening, performing, and creating. I started listening to traditional Indian music from a very young age, and as my musical tastes developed, I quickly took special interest in Bollywood and Bhangra alongside House, Trance, Afro and Reggaeton.
While listening to Bollywood remixes and taking inspiration from Dj’s at Indian weddings, I realised that the passion I felt when listening to music, would be one I wanted to develop as a career.
I set in motion my career, with the stage name DJ Yash back in 2007. Starting mixing at a local online radio station and then stepping up to perform in local Portuguese clubs. Step by step, I started gaining more notability.
This exposure allowed me to launch my own project, « Spicy Nights », for private parties and weddings, which brought people together for « unique and magical nights to the sound of the best Indian music ».
In 2013 created Bollywood Holi, an annual festival held in Lisbon that has more than 2000 attendees .
Journey
My journey began when I was given the opportunity to start playing on an online radio back in 2006/2007, and as my popularity and infectious party spirit took off, I became a frequent presence as an entertainer at private parties, and weddings.
Before officially kicking off my career debuting as a DJ on December 24, 2007 at “Discoteca W” in Lisbon and since then he has never stopped, counting on 10+ years of experience as a DJ and event organizer.
In 2011, I won the ‘Best DJ’ award at the Portela Summer Fest DJ contest , which helped me kickstart my international career.
I have performed in prestigious clubs in Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Great Britain, Angola, Gibraltar, Holland, Scotland, Italy . I have performed alongside famous South Asian singers such as Arjun, Raxtar, Zack Knight, H Dhami, Navin Kundra, Bambi Bains, Juggy D, Rita Morar, Jeena (Holland), Harvey Sahota Panjabi MC, Lehmber Hussainpuri, Amra, Metz n Trix, Muki & Haseeb, Sam K Music and the list goes on.
Have performed at the famous Middlesbrough Mela, Bhirmingam Mela and Wembley Mela.
In 2013, I crafted the first ever Bollywood Holi Festival in Lisbon. Gaining support from Comunidade Hindu de Portugal and Popat Sore, and with acts including: IdesiDance, Pedro Nascimento, Go hill’s, Mafalda Carvalhinho.
The event featured in Time Out magazine and has been an annual flagship party in Lisbon with over 2000 attendees each year, coming from all over the world to join the party.
More recently, I have delivered guest mixes for the prestigious BBC Radio, for the following shows: AJD, Panjabi Hit Squad, Beyond Bollywood and Weekend Breakfast Mix which are available on BBC Sounds, Asian Network.
I am forever thankful to the people who have accompanied me and joined me on this musical journey, and I will continue to bring my magical energy, eclectic musical influences, and party vibes to events and occasions around the world!
